With their unique mix of emotional pop, strong lyrics and familiar presence, Bröderna Norén have quickly become an obvious favorite with the Swedish music audience. It’s never too late to quit – a new farewell tour

This summer’s two farewell concerts with Eldkvarn in their old hometown of Norrköping attracted enormous attention and fans from all over the country flocked to the city. After this tremendous success, the voices from the audience are now being raised, demanding that EVERYONE in Sweden should be able to say goodbye to the band and Eldkvarn of course agrees!

Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised by the band’s goodwill, given what bassist Tony Thorén usually says when asked how long the band will last: ”It’s too late to quit!”

Or as Carla puts it: ”When you sit in the middle of it all and play the same song night after night, you can feel very tired of it all. A few years later you feel it would be great fun to play the same songs. Night after night’.

Like few other bands in Sweden, Eldkvarn with Plura Jonsson’s unique lyrics have portrayed both the proud history of their old hometown in songs like: ”3:ans spårvagn genom ljuva livet”, ”Alice”, ”27” and also the capital city in songs like ”Stockholms Stjärnor”. And like few others, Plura has portrayed love relationships so nakedly, warmly and vulnerably. Seeing Eldkvarn live leaves no one indifferent. You are blown away by their interplay and enormous charisma.

With the acclaimed albums ”Himmelska Dagar” and ”Kungarna från Broadway” the band became a national affair, followed by the cult-classic Tältprojektet & the ”Cirkus Broadway” tour with invited guest artists such as Thåström, Ratata, Peter LeMarc and Marie Fredriksson.

Since then, much water has flowed under the famous bridges, and Eldkvarn has continued to play and release critically acclaimed albums while also pursuing successful solo projects.

Enchanted by the enthusiasm of the Norrköping crowd after what was supposed to be the band’s last gigs, Eldkvarn is now gathering the troops again for a big farewell tour and getting ready to say goodbye to their audience all over Sweden!

The tour starts at Folkets Park in Malmö on June 5 and ends with a grand finale at Mosebacke in Stockholm on August 25.

It’s never too late to quit – see you!
