About

We who run Grå Gåsen are Cecilia Westerholm Beer & Björn Westerholm. In the fall of 2019, we decided that we wanted to leave Stockholm and our permanent office jobs in favor of Gotland, Sudret and Grå Gåsen. Since then we have worked to refine and develop the Grå Gåsen and Gåsen Out into what it is today. Two beautiful places on southern Gotland with different character, but with the same nice relaxed feeling.

Who are we?

We who run Grå Gåsen are Cecilia Westerholm Beer & Björn Westerholm. In the fall of 2019, we decided that we wanted to leave Stockholm and our permanent office jobs in favor of Gotland, Sudret and Grå Gåsen. Since then we have worked to refine and develop the Grå Gåsen and Gåsen Out into what it is today. Two beautiful places on southern Gotland with different character, but with the same nice relaxed feeling.

In winter, spring and autumn, we are a small team working to serve our guests who mainly consist of groups – companies or private individuals who for a few days make Grå Gåsen their own. In June, Grå Gåsen is transformed into a recording site for the program Så Mycket Bättre where a group of artists stay with us and play their interpretations of each other’s songs in our pergola and our barn. The production consists of nearly 100 people who will have breakfast, lunch, dinner and accommodation for three weeks. After midsummer, we’ll transform Grå Gåsen into a wonderful boutique hotel, restaurant and concert venue. We strive for you as a guest to come to us and experience our beautiful summer hangout.

GRAND DUKE

Sudret, the small tongue of land that, after a slight tapering of the waist, extends straight south and rounds the island, is our paradise. This part of Gotland is magnificent in many ways. The coast is lined with fine sandy beaches. The inland cliffs are a great place to hike and experience nature, and there are few other places where the island’s nature is as distinctive as it is here. The light is magnificent and the sunsets don’t get any better than this. A rich arts and culture scene thrives in this sparsely populated part of the island and there are plenty of distinctive pubs where food, people and music take center stage. We are happy to recommend other places than the Grå Gåsen. A great way to explore the area is by cycling, hiking – or why not go horseback riding or kite surfing?
